      Hey folks,

It’s Christopher here. I’m just chilling out and feeling very excited about our first ever live DVD, “Lights…Camera…SQUAD!”. This has been quite a project for the band. First of all, this is the first time that many people will be able to actually SEE a Cosmosquad concert! Without any false modesty, I do not think that we will disappoint. Second, this is a true Cosmosquad production in every sense of the word. Instead of hiring a production company to set up the shoot, handling the post-production, manufacturing and all that, we handled all of the logistics every step of the way. From renting the cameras, to directing the crew, to the editing, designing and manufacturing, this was our little baby from start to finish. I’m sure you can imagine how much work was involved and how much we had to learn from early October, when we started this thing, to right now. It’s been a true labor of love, and we hope the attention to detail shows when you watch it.

I’d personally like to give a big thanks to Musicians Institute, who hosted this event for us. Shane and I have been students and instructors there, and Jeff pops in from time to time as well. It’s definitely been a great place for us, and we were excited to film in front of the students. I think we gave them a hell of a show! Special thanks to the awesome production crew (as well as some of our friends who helped on the shoot), the student services department, the head honchos who gave us the green light to film and the Film School department head Alan Calzatti, who came through for us every single solitary step of the way. Thanks also to Ryan Poyer, who did the DVD menu and optimization (who endured some looooong nights of said menu-ing), the absolutely stunning and talented Kristina Balobeck for art direction and design (that’s why the packaging looks so interstellar, not to mention the website!!) and Chris Leibundgut who has been indispensable in getting the word out about the DVD and all things Squad.

For me, this DVD is special in another way. This is the first Cosmosquad project where I’m officially the bassist. Personally, for me, that’s very exciting stuff. Although, I’ve been playing in the band for over 8 years in an unofficial capacity, I’ve always been just a sub on this gig. Now, I think this is a fine introduction to the many fans who haven’t seen a live Csquad show. To me, Cosmosquad was always Jeff, Shane and Barry. For better or worse, the bass mantle has been handed to me, and I really hope that I don’t disappoint those hard-core fans who have loved the band from the beginning. Hopefully, you guys will be as accepting of my participation in the band as you have been of Cosmosquad music all these years. Frankly, I’m very proud of the way all of us played not just individually but as a unit. I think we really brought our A-game to this performance. I sincerely hope you feel the same once you watch the DVD.

That’s it for now. I’m sure either Jeff and/or Shane will be in here with some kind of comments in the next week. Thanks to all of you for your tremendous support of this group. All my best to you!!
